Good Morning everyone! If you’ve been to my Instagram feed you can see that I posted a fun slideshow showing off ten quilts made by ten different Project QUILTING participants. In a previous post, I asked folks to send me a picture of their personal favorite quilt that they made for a Project QUILTING Challenge so I could start a Project QUILTING Virtual Quilt Show. I’ll be posting them in groups of tens as long as I have new ones coming it. These quilts could be from ANY season so feel free to send it my way! The Instagram post has just a few details about the quilts so I thought I’d post in more detail here so you can really take a closer look at what folks are creating. This virtual quilt show is part of my special Project QUILTING Quarantine Edition to help folks keep their minds off what’s happening in the world today – or at least give you a breather for a few minutes. I hope you enjoy it!
The first Project QUILTING Quarantine Challenge was posted yesterday so feel free to join in the fun of that!
Now let’s look at the quilts folks chose!
Do You Know the Way to San Jose?
Created by Mel Beach for the 9.1 Hometown Proud Challenge. You can read more about this quilt on Mel’s website! Mel has participated in 5 season of Project QUILTING.
Nordic Tree of Life
Created by Anneliese Bopp for the 10.5 Abecedarius Challenge. It is the Nordic Tree of Life surrounded by the Nordic alphabet.
Hope Springs Eternal
Created by Katie Bishop for the 10.1 Hope Springs Eternal Challenge. I think this is my favorite, but what a tough choice!!
Abecedarian I-Spy, Find the Match Quilt
Created by Barb Johnson for 10.5 Abecedarius Challenge. Each block is a novelty fabric showing something that starts with a letter of the alphabet. And I used two of each block so that it can be a ‘find the match’ game as well as an alphabet game.
Flight of the Seagulls
Created by Caraolyn Braun for the PQ Bonus Challenge – Fat Quarter Shop Fabric Bundle – Tradition Times Three. This challenge was special with fabric bundles created by the Fat Quarter Shop that were required for the challenge. I absolutely loved that challenge and this quilt. This quilt has traveled more than I have and has been published in AQS.
My Old Kentucky Home
Created by Becca Easley for the 9.1 Hometown Proud Challenge.
Pure Imagination
Created by Laura Strickland for the 10.6 Craving Chocolate Challenge. This piece won “Viewer’s Choice” for the Craving Chocolate challenge and it is a whimsical portrait of Gene Wilder as Willy Wonka in a candy encrusted Candy Factory. Fusible raw edge portrait applique with additional details using Inks. This project is displayed on Laura’s website: orangeblossomquilt.com.
You Changed Your Hair
Created by Kimberly Rolzhausen for the 8.6 Time’s Up Challenge. This is my most favorite quilt from project quilting,
Miss Helen Bright Eyes
Created by Vicki Steffe for the 8.4: The Brighter the Better Challenge.
Things I Love
Created by Siri Sinha for the 11.3 Put a Heart on It Challenge. I love scrappy projects and making something out of fabric that represents things I love was very enjoyable. This simple wall hanging brightens up my rather drab sewing room!
I hope you enjoyed today’s collection for the Project QUILTING Virtual Quilt Show! If you’ve created a project for Project QUILTING and would like to have one of your quilts featured please check out THIS POST to find out more on how to do that!
