Happy Thursday everyone! I’ve been trying to patiently wait for Pip-monster to take her nap so I could have more than 2 minutes at a time on the computer to share with you a *BONUS Project QUILTING Challenge we’re offering this year.
I’m so excited that we’re teaming up with The Fat Quarter Shop on this adventure!!!! (I may be using a lot of exclamation points in this post…I’m really excited about it!).
Step 1 of the BONUS Challenge: Head over to the Fat Quarter Shop and purchase your very own ‘Project QUILTING Bundle by Kim Lapacek of Persimon Dreams’. (EEEK!!! SO EXCITED!) The only way you can do this challenge is if you use fabrics from this bundle so it’s very important that you don’t wait too long to get it…they should go fast!

The Prize
Of course there is a prize! Everyone that enters the BONUS Project QUILTING Challenge will have their name put in a hat and one of my three girls will randomly pick a winner for:
$75 to use at the Fat Quarter Shop!
Uhmmm…yes, this is going to be a fun BONUS challenge!
Just think of this challenge as ‘making it to Fashion Week’. I can’t wait to see what you all come up with! I’ve already placed an order for two bundles (one for me and one for Diane – her birthday gift! Yup – I’m terrible at secrets!) Have fun!
Haven’t heard of Project QUILTLING? See what it’s all about HERE.

This sounds alot of fun. May I say that I love this challenge and dummy me missed it last week, I didnt realize it was noon. But, oh, well I made something real pretty and love it. Lesson learned. Without sounding rude, please dont be offended. I wish you would do the random generator, or the raffle-copter. Especially asking people to purchase and for this amount of winnings. I know I could just not participate if I dont like it but, hey, I want to play, but dont feel comfortable with drawing a name out of the hat. Thank you and I am really sorry if this sounds rude, its not meant to.

I hope you do decide to join in! And I hope you post your project anyway even if you didn't make the noon deadline – we want to see it!
Would it make you more comfortable if we videotaped the random hat drawing? I'm not offended at all but at this point I do plan on sticking with the random hat drawing – it's what I've done for all my challenges and what I already posted that is what I am going to do.
I would love to hear from others if they don't feel comfortable with the hat drawing too.

I do not like raffle copter – my security and firewall have problems with it. And the random really is not random. I always use the old name in a hat, bowl, mason jar, candy dish – when doing my own draws – I think this is the fairest way.

A question – I am making a quilt. From the instructions I understand that 10 of the 12 FQs must be used on the front, BUT if we can use 2 additional fabrics is this total to front or if we use a fabric on a quilt back in that considered one of the 'additional' – as well as the binding??? I can work with what ever your decision, just want to be sure I am following the rules before I get too far into my project. Thank you.
PersimonDreams says
The 2 additional fabrics are for the front of the quilt. Binding and backing can be whatever you want it to be and are not considered the additional fabrics.

Hi Kim! I was wondering if you knew who makes the red and white, the one with the cross hatched lines. I can't seem to figure it out and my fat quarter doesn't have the info on it. Thanks!
