Clue 6 for the Fourth Annual Project QUILTING Mystery QAL

Let’s continue with the Project QUILTING Mystery Quilt Along. Today we’ll be making Blocks 10 and 11! We’re over half way done with our blocks. Anyone have a clue what these blocks are going to turn into yet?

Block 10 Cutting Instructions

Fabric A

(1) 3.5″ x 4.5″ rectangle
(1) 3.5″ x 3.5″ square
(2) 1.5″ x 2.5″ rectangles
(1) 1.5″ x 1.5″ square

Fabric C

(1) 2.5″ x 3.5″ rectangle

Fabric D

(1) 1.5″ x 1.5″ square

Fabric E

(2) 1.5″ x 1.5″ squares

Construction

Layout the pieces you’ve cut as shown in the diagram above.

Sew the 1.5″ squares together into two strips.

Sew the upper left three pieces together. Press towards Fabric A. Sew the lower right two pieces together. Press towards Fabric C.

Sew the pieces into two rows.

To finish this block off, sew the two sections together. Press to the bottom section. Block 10 should measure 5.5″ x 7.5″ at this point.

Block 11 Cutting Instructions

Fabric A

(1) 1.5″ x 7.5″ rectangle
(1) 3.5″ x 3.5″ square
(1) 1.5″ x 1.5″ square

Fabric B

(1) 1.5″ x 3.5″ rectangle
(2) 1.5″ x 1.5″ squares

Fabric C

(1) 1.5″ x 3.5″ rectangle
(1) 1.5″ x 4.5″ rectangle

Fabric D

(1) 1.5″ x 1.5″ square

Fabric E

(5) 1.5″ x 1.5″ squares

Construction

Layout the pieces you’ve cut as shown in the diagram above.

Sew the 1.5″ squares together into two horizontal strips and one vertical strip.

Sew the top four rows of 1.5″ x 3.5″ strips of fabric together. Press towards the strip of Fabric C and towards the strip of Fabric B. Sew the bottom 1.5″ x 3.5″ column to the 3.5″ square of Fabric A. Press towards Fabric A.

Sew the 1.5″ x 4.5′ strip of Fabric C to the top center section. Press towards Fabric C.

Sew the two sections on the right together. press towards the bottom section.

To finish this block off, sew the 1.5″ x 7.5″ strip of Fabric A and press towards that strip. Block 11 should measure 5.5″ x 7.5″ at this point.

Here are the blocks from clues 1, 2, 4, 5 and 6. I didn’t include the block from clue 3 because it’s just not as exciting … yet.

    Woo is me. Managed to cut everything but still not feeling great. Not Covid! Hoping to feel perky enough soon to start sewing. I layed the blocks out on their own sheets of paper so I don’t get confused! Liz
