A Lovely Year of Finishes–June Completion

June 26, 2014 by persimondreams 9 Comments

My Button My A Lovely Year of Finishes June goal was to make and finish the Hungry Caterpillar quilt for Capri’s teacher, Mrs. Ellingson. I actually accomplished this goal a few weeks ago and I shared the rest of the process pictures with you HERE.  I was waiting for this post though to show you the pictures I took when the kids gave the quilt to her! IMG_9948My initial plan was to bring it to school for Capri to give the teacher…but instead, she took the bag on the bus!  I hadn’t realized she had done that and there were a few moments of panic as I remembered that she has to transfer buses too!  I called the school though and they made sure she got off the bus with the bag!  *whew!* IMG_9949 IMG_9952Here’s Capri’s class with Mrs. Ellingson and the quilt! IMG_9961 Of course – they all had to find there hand make sure EVERYONE knew it was theirs!IMG_9964 It was really neat to watch the excitement and pride in the children when they inspected the final product. I know for a fact Mrs. Ellingson loves it!

What an amazing idea and gift. Something that she will definitely treasure for a long time – long after those handprint leavers are a lot bigger!!

It's people like you showing your appreciation for teachers that makes a teacher's heart glow. Lovely, thoughtful gift. You are truly a special person for making this memory for that young teacher.
