Blowing in the Wind

 This quilt is all about playing with groupings of three colors! Here’s your chance to try out color schemes like: 

TRIADIC – 3 colors evenly spaced on the color wheel like an equilateral triangle

SPLIT COMPLIMENTARY – 2 colors next to one another on the wheel, along with a single complimentary color

ANALOGOUS – colors next to each other on the color wheel

Blowing in the Wind is one block, repeated in seven combinations of color. 

Have some fun — see what makes you happy. The quilt’s background is one color, but feel free to expand into a variety of tones and values. The cover quilt shows how a range of “gray” fabrics provided additional drama.
