With this week’s Project QUILTING Challenge being based off a quilt block I thought it was a good opportunity to feature some patterns from a few of our Season 15 sponsors. Let’s check them out!
Twister Shuffle – this pattern is from Around the Bobbin and it is not a classic hourglass or based of the hourglass block but the technique and twister tool used gives you that hourglass feel! I thought this was perfect to feature for this challenge!
Chocolate Cherries – this pattern From My Carolina Home has the hourglass on point. This quilt may be too large to finish in a week but you could definitely get a portion of it done and it would make a great table runner or pillow!
Fizzle (#ad) – I love how unique this pattern is from Dandelion Quilt Studio! There are definitely hourglasses in this pattern but they are elongated so they create a whole new effect!
Lanterns – you might be wondering why I think this pattern from Betty Crocker Ass qualifies for the hourglass but if you look closely in the middle of the lanterns – there are definitely curvy hourglasses! This would be a great opportunity to give some curve sewing a try!
Five Stars – Hunter’s Design Studio has TONS of quilt patterns that would qualify for the hourglass challenge but Five Stars is definitely one of my favorite! I just love the idea of the stars nesting in each other.
Diamond Daze – this is the last pattern featured tonight and it’s by Studio R Quilts. This quilt is actually made from just one block! By placing the blocks in just the right way you’ll highlight the hourglass block in this quilt.
