As I was scrolling through instagram one day, the quilt “Be Mine” by Quiltachusetts (#ad) caught my eye. I just loved it! I don’t typically make quilts out of all solid fabrics but since working at Blue Bar Quilts I’ve become obsessed by the amazing feel, quality and color options of Art Gallery Pure Solid Fabrics. I knew I had to get them and make this quilt!
Of course I had to pick my own fabrics for the project so these are what I went with …
Sweet Mint, Field of Lavender, Peach Sherbet, Raw Gold, Ocean Waves, Teak, Golden Bronze, Purple Wine, Creme de la Creme (#ad), Flamingo (#ad), and Tile Blue
I’ve hyperlinked all of my choices in case you’re interested in any of them! Be sure to check out their entire amazing collection of AGF pure Solids! You won’t be able to stop!
This pattern went together SO FAST! I bet you I spent maybe, maybe 3 hours piecing the top. The pattern comes with templates for the triangle blocks and the curved pieces but I’ve found some rulers I prefer to these.
For curve piecing – The Color Girl Quilts Classic Curve Ruler (#ad) is my go to! It’s made curved piecing so much better for me! I had to adjust a little with the cutting instructions to make the ruler work but it was minor and worth it!
Anytime I have to make a Triangle in a Square block I always just pull out my Tri-Recs Ruler (#ad). This is a ruler you’ll use over and over again! Definitely worth adding to your toolbox!
Other than using rulers instead of the included templates I followed all the rest of the rules and instructions! Pretty much a first for me. Before I knew it … I had my quilt top finished!
I’m thrilled with how it turned out and I could even see myself making it again. I might just have to throw in a few prints with the solids … I’m also currently obsessed with the texture of the Coco blenders Blue Bar Quilts offers. We’ll just have to see!
Stay tuned to see this one finished!
