Many of you watched me create Plaidberry Block (ad) after Plaidberry Block over the fall on instagram. This block was designed by the amazing Christina from Kindred Quilt Co ! And just last week I finally put the last stitch in the binding of the piece. I’m here today to share with you pictures of the finished quilt! I am in love!
I made my Plaidberry quilt with fabulous Tilda fabrics (#ad) (also now for sale at Blue Bar Quilts!) and my background is a fun ombre (in the metallic accent) of snippets II (ad) from Studio E Fabrics.
To tie all the blocks together I created a scrappy checkerboard sashing. It was tedious but so so worth the final effect!
The lovely Kim Van Etten did the quilting for me on this piece. My favorite thing to do is tell her to just have fun and do what the quilt tells her to do! She did just that and it turned out beautifully! I’m in love!
The snow was already starting to melt for us for the photoshoot. My lovely hubby, Jared, helped me hang the quilt on the deer fence – it’s a big one! My normal spot was too shady this time of the year so we ventured down to the north end of the orchard. He took a break in pruning the apple trees to help. Of course, I had to take a .5 to mark the fun!
The last step in this quilt adventure is to gift it to my friend! I can’t wait to see what she thinks!
If you want to make this block too feel free to purchase the block HERE (ad) at Kindred Quilt Co’s etsy shop!
