A Plaidberry Quilt Block Fall Journey

The Kim’s are at it again! GoGo Kim and I are embarking on a sewing adventure to get me through apple season at Lapacek’s Orchard. Anyway, before the summer sun started sizzling, we were deep in block-hunting mode – vintage treasures and modern gems alike! And just like a pop of color in a quilt, the Plaidberry Block (ad) by the amazing Christina from Kindred Quilt Co caught our eyes and captured our hearts! 😍💕 Christina is an absolute gem, letting us play with her block like kids in a fabric store! Starting last Tuesday and all throughout the apple season 🍏🍎 (yep, that’s quite a few Tuesdays), we will put our creative sewing pedal to the metal and stitch up a storm. There was talk of 20-30 blocks depending on fabric and positioning. I’m already considering an on point layout.

Now, let’s talk fabrics, shall we? I’m jazzing up my Plaidberry blocks with fabulous Tilda fabrics (#ad) and my background is a fun ombre (in the metallic accent) of snippets II (ad) from Studio E Fabrics. Definitely a more mellow reading quilt for me but I know exactly the person I’m gifting it to and she’s going to love it! It’s great to mix up your “go tos” so discovering joy in other fabrics – like tilda – can happen! So here’s the plan, dear sewing pals: first, go shower some love on kindredquiltco. She is fabulous and lovely, you can thank me later.
