Hello everyone! Not only does 2023 start in just two days but so does the fourteenth challenge of Project QUILTING! Are you excited?! Because I know I am! I love when the new season starts … I do prefer it when the first Sunday of the new year is a few days in so it gives me a little more of a buffer but we’re making this work too!
Before we find out the first challenge (on Sunday, Jan 1), let’s meet this weeks Ultimate Weekly Sponsor – Blue Bar Quilts! Blue Bar Quilts is my local quilt shop and I’m thrilled that they love to support Project QUILTING. Blue Bar Quilts has been open now for over five years and I’m beyond impressed on how Gael and her fabulous staff have built this incredible business. Not only does Blue Bar Quilts have an incredible selection of fabric (for sale online and at their brick and mortar: take a virtual tour!), notions, classes, work space, but now they are a Juki QVP dealer, service sewing machines AND will do custom digital printing to fabric! Did I mention that they do tons of incredible things to support and build up their community?
Be sure to sign up for the Blue Bar Quilts Newsletter HERE so you don’t miss a thing!
I always love to help you get to know our Ultimate Weekly Sponsors a little more so I did a fun little interview. Enjoy!
Marcia Derse, and one of my new favorite new designers is ebond who has a similar surface design style. (sidenote – oooh I’m digging ebond too!)
Q: If you could choose one song to play every time you walked into a room, what would you choose and why?
A: I think the song would choose me and it would definitely be “Send in the Clowns”.
Q: What would your superhero power be and why?
A: Time management, enough said.
Q: What was the last gift you gave someone?
A: A fat quarter collection to one of my staff members.
Q: What is your go pattern for a baby quilt/quick project?

Thank you so much for the generous “Prize” for the first Project Quilting Challenge. Then Came June patterns are modern and fun and the Art Gallery solids are lovely.
