Yes – I realize that I named this piece “Notan NEIGHBORHOOD” even though there is really only one house. But I had to stick with the two N’s and since it’s inspired by my Dresden Neighborhood I thought I could get away with it.
I took a class awhile back with Lorraine Torrence as the teacher and Trish as one of my fellow classmates at Blue Bar Quilts. When the “In Silhouette” Project QUITLING Challenge came out and Trish mentioned Notan (#ad) I knew that’s what I wanted to try. It would be fun and easily fit my 6″ finished quilt goal for PQ this year.
If you click HERE you can see a time lapse video on how I made this mini quilt. Heat N Bond lite fusible (#ad) and my oliso iron (#ad) were essential to make this happen.
There’s another little video HERE if you want to watch the time lapse of the quilting.
The final touch for this mini quilt was to add just a tiny flange next to the binding … of course I had to “notan” that as well!
And here are the two 6″ quilts I’ve finished for the 13th season of Project QUILTING! I’m hoping I’ll be able to make this 6″ plan work for all of the challenges so I have a fun mini collection when it’s all said and done.
