And here it is – finished in all its glory! My next door bom quilt – pattern by duringquiettime ! I made these blocks each month in 2020 and had so much fun putting them together. Amy’s instructions were amazing and I’m thrilled with how this turned out. I asked kimveeeee to think map as she quilted this and she did just that! It’s perfect!!!!
I made these blocks throughout 2020 and it was a fun project to do block by block, month by month. The blocks are slightly intimidating but if you just take your time, they are done before you know it.
I decided to use a bunch of different printed white fabrics for the background and to add a few fun pieced trees and bushes. This is actually fairly subtle for my typical quilt but these little additions really help discern that I made it.
Kim Van Etten quilted such an amazing map into the background of this quilt. I gave this quilt to my mom for her 70th birthday last May. My parents travel a lot and love learning the history of the places they visit. Amy Friend gave a fun little history of each house in this quilt to go along with the block and I was sure to share that with my mom when she received the quilt.
My favorite thing is that now when I visit my mom’s house I see the quilt on one of their guest beds. It’s so nice to see it being used!
