Wow! Once again I had an incredible weekend attending the Make it Modern Retreat from Home hosted by LoveBug Studios – without even having to go anywhere! I started writing this post a month ago after the retreat and I just needed to take a little break from the computer I guess since I’m just getting back to it.
With that being said, it must have been an amazing time if I still feel that it’s worth sharing with you about it.
It was my second time teaching at a Retreat from Home event and I would do it again in a heartbeat.
I taught a brand new workshop called Garden Sprouts and I think folks enjoyed it. I know I’ve seen a few finished projects which is always fun!
If you like the looks of this pattern you can buy a PDF copy HERE and if you really want I still have some kits for making this fun quilt HERE. (I may even eventually have a listing that combines the pattern and kit! We’ll see!)
During the weekend I was able to make a fun mermaid doll after watching Kerry Goulder of Kid Giddy teach her class. I can’t even start to tell you how much fun I had making this little cutie. There’s not very much handwork either if that makes you nervous. Kerry has some great ideas for adding on special details to each doll to make it special. I had to give mine a “Pipalina” hairdo since my daughter Pip names her really high pony tails that!
And my final project for the weekend were these fabulously fun cathedral window pincushions made for easy access to my needles. This class was taught by GoGoKim or as I call her – Gigi. As you can see, I failed to listen to all the directions before I finished my first one – whoops! But they go together so fast it didn’t’ take me long to make one the right way. I think they both turned out adorable.
I haven’t finished any of the projects taught by Ebony Love of Gyleen Fitzgerald yet but I bought the kits so I can pull these out anytime since I still have access to the classes for awhile!
Be sure to follow the “Retreat from Home” facebook page so you don’t miss out on any info about the next Retreat happening in August!
