Hello everyone! Happy March 12th! The 12th in 2021 is a very special day every month because a new block for the Old School BOM 2021 is released. If you missed all the beginning info you can find out all about this Block of the Month HERE.
I’m thrilled to have Jane Davidson of Quilt Jane as the designer for March. Quilt Jane is a fabulous quilt designer from Australia and I’ve even had the pleasure of meeting her in real life! I’ve always loved Jane’s design aesthetic. Back in 2014, I finished my Nested Churn Dash quilt (which you can see HERE) using Jane’s pattern. She was also one of the designers for two of my earliest quilt alongs.
She designed this super cool block featuring a special kind of four patch fussy cut for the center. It’s a great way to use some of those larger scale print fabrics you have and really highlight the design. Find out how to make Jane’s block by going HERE.
I decided to pull out some of my other fabrics with a few more colors in it. It was time.
Here are my first three blocks. If you look closely you can see that each block has at least one of the same fabrics as one of the other blocks.
This order looks a bit more balanced. I’m not worried about them all “matching” together too perfectly just yet. There are still nine more blocks to make.
