This is a bittersweet moment. This is the last blog post I’ll be doing about Project QUILTING Season 11. And what a season it has been! We’ve had a record breaking number of quilts made – 776 (the previous high was in Season 8 with 711). When we add this number to the rest of the Project QUILTING seasons it makes the total number of quilts made to 4,321! Not only is that a super cool number but that is just an insane number! See! I told you all quilts can be made in just a week!
I also want to take a moment to give my partner in crime – Trish Frankland– a huge shout out. She is the one that comes up with the challenge themes each week and she’s also the one that keeps me grounded in this quilting journey. She is honest and empathetic. She is extremely talented and also extremely giving of her talents. She is one of the best teachers I know and also has the biggest vocabulary of anyone I know. Thank you, Trish, for all that you do to keep Project QUILTING run smoothly and keep me calm(er) behind the scenes!
I know that right now we’re living in a crazy time of this world. Please be sure to either follow me on on instagram @PersimonDreams and/or join the Quilt Challenge Group. Reach out if you need to chat or vent! I’m here. I’m staying home. I’m not very good with saying the write words in times like these but I am here and sometimes that’s all a person needs. Let’s come together (while remaining separate!) and help each other through this time.
Ok – now onto the final Grand Prize Package winner!
Every time you participated in a Project QUILTING challenge your name was entered not only in the weekly prize drawing but also in the drawing for the grand prize. 229 people completed at least one challenge during the 11th season of Project QUILTING. If you participated in all six challenges, your name was put in the hat a seventh time. 43 people participated in all six challenges!
There were so many amazing things donated for the grand prize drawing we split them into two packages. Before I announce the winner, lets review all the amazing things that are included in the second Grand Prize Package.
GRAND PRIZE PACKAGE TWO
Amy Friend – During Quiet Time
Amy Friend is one of my favorite quilters and pattern designers – in fact I joined in the Next Door Block of the Month for 2020. I’m thrilled that During Quiet Time has donated her book Intentional Piecing Book for the grand prize two package.
Island Batik
I had the amazing opportunity to be a 2019 Island Batik ambassador. There fabric is stunning and great to work with. I was thrilled when Island Batik said they would sponsor Project QUILTING season 11 and part of their donation included this Enchanted Forest 10” square fabric pack.
Great Wisconsin Quilt Show
I literally jumped up and down when the Great Wisconsin Quilt Show contacted me to see if they could sponsor Project QUILTING! How cool is that!? Of course! I would love to have them! Part of the Great Wisconsin Quilt Show donation included this fabulous Quilt Kit! (Also take a moment to stop at their website and see what quilt is on the front page *wink, wink*)
Pamela Quilts
I’ve known Pamela for years! I met her on etsy when I first starting selling my quilts on their in 2008! She’s participated in Project QUILTING for quite a few seasons and has sponsored the last couple! The winner of the second Grand Prize package will receive three patterns from Pamela Quilts – Checker Twist, Baby Nines and Cross Flight.

If you take a moment to browse the LDH Scissors site you’ll see why I’m excited they’ve generously donated a $50 CAD gift certificate to the winner of the second Grand Prize Package! Squeal!

Joan Ford of the Hummingbird Highway has created one of my favorite organizing tools – Your Nest! She also runs a one-of-a-kind Quilt block program on her website – the Flock! Hummingbird Highway has donated a Your Nest, 5” hummingbird block & and a brand new Hummingbird Highway window decal!

The winner of the second Grand Prize package will also receive this adorable Moda – Measure twice,Cut once zipper pouch! Perfect size for packing all your “on the go” sewing items!
Color Girl Quilts
Until I listened to Sharon of Color Girl Quilts I despised curved piecing! The Color Girl Quilts Classic Curves Ruler has completely changed me and I am no long afraid! In fact I embrace it! And – one lucky winner of the second Grand Prize will get their very own Color Girl Quilts Classic Curves Ruler!
Hunter’s Design Studio
Sam Hunter of Hunter’s Design Studio is an amazing quilt designer and pattern writer! I can’t explain enough just how much I love them! I was also honored to be able to take an actual class in real life with her too and I enjoyed every moment of it! Hunter’s Design Studio has generously donated 3 PDF patterns of the grand prize two winner’s choice! Above is the quilt I made from her new pattern – Carpe Nap. It still makes me smile.
