Season 11 of Project QUILTING is starting out bigger and better than I ever imagined! In the first two challenges combined – 260 quilts have been complete!!! WOW!!! You are all blowing me away!
I discovered Maywood Studio over a year ago through a good friend of mine and I’m so happy I did. This is the fabric company that sells the Gelato Ombre fabrics – the same ones I used in my “In The Garden” Quilt. They have tons more fabric and something really cool called “Pods” which a great precut quilt kits. Pods are great when you need a “no think” project – you just get to sew and have a beautiful finished project before you know it!
I did a fun little interview with Maywood Studio so we can all see a little more “behind the scenes.”
K: When did you first here about Project QUILTING?
MS: Maywood Studio first sponsored Project Quilting last year on the recommendation of one of our staff members.
K: Why did you decide to sponsor this fun challenge?
MS: We love to see all the creative submissions and are inspired by the wonderful projects that folks create.
K: Do you have a go-to pattern or method you use when you take on a challenge?
MS: Fabric first and then choose the pattern and technique that will best compliment it. We tend to give fabric a voice around here and have been known to say things like, “that fabric just wants to be HSTs!”
K: What would your perfect day of sewing involve?
MS: Friends, delicious food, endless supplies of fabric and thread, and a lot of laughing. Since we are in Portland, Oregon I would add rain, because we can always say it wasn’t nice enough to go outside so we had to stay inside and sew for hours!
K: What is the best piece of quilting advice you’ve received?
MS: Done is perfect!
K: Do you prefer cake or pie?
MS: PIE PIE PIE!!!
Drum Roll Please …
And the prize the that Maywood Studio is giving one lucky random participant of the third challenge is …
