Every year I seem to find some sort of craft project that I’m obsessed with making at the holidays. This year I was all about the Shrinky Dinks! Have you done these before? They are super fun! Basically all you do is color on shrinky dink paper (crystal clear, bright white or frosted white), put it in the oven and watch them shrink!
You can draw your own objects if you’d like or if you want to make it a bit easier, you can trace from coloring books like this “Drawing Shape by Shape” book.
The Shrinky Dinks went from all just fitting on a cookie pan to having plenty of room on a paper plate!
I may have a really good friend that doesn’t really enjoy the holidays.
I make it my goal to do something special for her to help bring a bit more joy into this crazy, bittersweet season. This year, I decided to decorate a mini teal tree with shrinky dinks and other fun ornaments. Capri helped me and made special a special needle, thread and skull ornament for our friend. I secretly delivered it to her work and her text to me was “You are slightly insane. And I love you.” Sounds like my goal was achieved!
I’m pretty sure it was the mini gold sequin tree skirt that made her like it though. One can never have too much sparkle in their life!
