A few months ago the Fat Quarter Shop contacted me to see if I’d like to join in the fun of their blog remix. Bloggers are taking a look back at some previous tutorials and patterns and re-creating them.
I knew my family was heading on a big road trip so I immediately signed up for the “Road Trip Pillow Bag” tutorial. I knew these would be perfect for my girls to bring along on the trip with us.
I found some fabulous Cori Dantini fabric from both the “Love is Spoken Here” and “Hello World” lines on the Fat Quarter Shop and I knew it would be the perfect fabric for these pillows. Cori Dantini’s panels are not only adorable but have some great messages as well.I was only asked to make one Road Trip Pillow Bag but of course since I have three girls – I made three!
Cori Dantini’s panels are fabulous but I sometimes struggle with how to incorporate them into things. It turns out they’re the perfect size for the Road Trip Pillow Bag. A larger panel is featured on the non-pocket side of the pillow and then a smaller panel section was fussy cut as the pocket on the opposite side.
The girls put books and notebooks in the pockets of their bags and then used the pillows for napping on our trip.
The most difficult thing about making these was deciding which girl got which Road Trip Pillow Bag!
You can make your own “Road Trip Pillow Bag” by heading to the tutorial on the Fat Quarter Shop’s blog HERE.
