“In the Garden”
pieced by Kim Lapacek and quilted by Frank Palmer
is officially a #quiltconreject.
I’m sharing this not because I’m disappointed. But because it’s important to see that even when you make something you love and are proud of, it doesn’t mean it will be accepted by all. Does the rejection make me doubt my quilt – not in the least! It just means it didn’t fit into what the QuiltCon exhibit committee envisioned for their show. I’ve had to curated quilt exhibits before I know just how difficult those decisions can be! And it’s not always about the beauty of the quilt … it’s about the story they want to tell with the show.
And don’t worry – I’ll be googling to find other shows I can submit this to. I would love to have it shown all over so folks can see it in person!
