Hand Print Owl Quilt–Kindergarten Graduation

June 12, 2017 by persimondreams 1 Comment

Last week was a whirlwind around here.  The last day of school was on Wednesday, June 7th so of course I spent the first few days of the week finishing up teacher gifts and mentally preparing myself for the girls home for the summer. The last half of the week was spent enjoying the first few days off with my girls, softball games, swimming, basketball tournaments and some fabulous house guests.  Today I’m trying to get a bit more on a schedule.  I have to admit though – in the summer I like to just let things happen and be happy with whatever gets done or doesn’t get done.  Soon enough it will be apple season and then soon after that – school will start again. Today I want to share with you some photos from my babies (Pip) graduation.  IMG_7424-001 Pip had a phenomenal teacher!  I was so grateful for that!  I had a really hard time having her away from me and in school full time and having her with such a spectacular person helped make it easier on me.  I should tell you – Pip had absolutely no problem being away from me – she LOVED school! Kinder Grad-7Here is a picture of Pip and her classmates!  (photo courtesy of A Thousand Words Photography)Kinder Grad-8 And here are some photo’s of Pip’s teacher opening her gift.  (photo courtesy of A Thousand Words Photography)Kinder Grad-9 We made a very special gift for her teacher – a handprint owl quilt.  You can see all the details on how you can make one (or something similar) on Thermoweb’s blog HERE. hand print owl quilt by Kim Lapacek and Mrs. Pafford's 2017 Kindergarten Students I had a lot of fun doing this quilt and am so happy that Pip’s teacher will have something to remember her last year of Kindergarten.  (photo courtesy of A Thousand Words Photography) Kinder Grad-88 After 17 years as a Kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Pafford, is moving to the 2nd grade next year.  I’m super excited for her but know that the she will be greatly missed in Kindergarten. (photo courtesy of A Thousand Words Photography)Kinder Grad-95All the kids helped to make a poem for Mrs. Pafford using the letters of her name.  Pip was “Stupendous” for the “s” in Mrs. (photo courtesy of A Thousand Words Photography)IMG_7427-001And just like that … I have a first grader … ~~~~ This post contains affiliate links and I will be compensated if you make a purchase after clicking on my links.

Thanks for the kind words and of course for creating the precious quilt. I feel so proud to be the owner. As I've said before, Pip is a treasure to have in the classroom. She absorbed everything intended and was always so authentically engaged in school. Pip's smile was a thank you everyday! Love her to pieces ❤️
