I’ve been working on getting samples made for some shops and classes I’ll either have my patterns at or be teaching at. I’m really excited to be at Mill House Quilts at the end of March teaching my quilt “Patchwork Kite.” Here’s the sample that I made for the store. I need to drop it off later this week. This a really fun little project and can be personalized for a new babies room or left as is for a great spring/summer decoration! This pattern was actually inspired by one of my earliest Project QUILTING Challenge pieces!
PATCHWORK KITE *New*
Tuesday, March 28, 9:30 – 12:00
Instructor: Kim Lapacek | Cost: $30 This whimsical patchwork kite is the perfect home decoration for the upcoming spring and summer months! In this class we’ll be making the one exhibited at the shop. It’s a quick and easy project that utilizes charm packs and a fun braided tail. If you’d like to personalize your kite with a name or other applique I will share with you how I prefer to raw edge applique to add this bit of whimsy and fun to the patchwork kite. Here are two examples of how I appliqued “ABC” onto the front of the kites. You can sign up ONLINE for the class HERE. Can’t make it to Wauankee in March ? You can get your very own pattern by going to my Craftsy page HERE. Are you a shop owner or know a shop that you think should carry these patterns? I have a wholesale listing on my etsy page HERE.

I saw this today and cut up some of my scraps on my lunch today to start working on a wall hanging for my front door. Thanks for the idea.
