Now – I know that everyone doesn’t necessarily have instagram but I’m here to tell you that there will be TONS of amazing prizes just like the ones listed above up for grabs during the Season 8 Project QUILTING Challenges! What? You’ve never heard of Project QUILTING?! Well – have no fear! I’m happy to explain it for you! Project QUILTING is a series of six, one-week challenges that happen over a 12 week period at the start of each year. The quilt challenge is posted right here on my blog on Sunday’s (in 2017 those exact days are: January 1st, 15th, 29th, February 12th, 26th, and March 12th).
“Barn Bones” was made for an “Architectural Elements” Project QUILTING Challenge. This piece aired on PBS along with me on a Nancy’s Corner segment of “Sewing with Nancy.”
Along with the challenge all of the rules you will need to follow for that particular challenge will be shared in each challenge post. Basically you have to start and finish a quilt during the single week of the challenge and link up a picture/story to the link up post on my blog. It is way easier than it sounds and I’ll be there to walk you through it every step of the way! If you have no way to link up pictures from your own blog/instagram/facebook/flickr … you can always email it to me (lapaceksorchard@gmail.com) and I’ll happily do it for you! My goal is to make this challenge as user friendly, stress free, and inspiration-full as possible!
I finished this mini quilt “Orbital Eclipse” in just one night for a Project QUILTING challenge (and two other challenges I had to do). Even if you’re crazy busy you can always make a small piece! This one finished at 17” x 17”.
Did I lose you at “Finish a quilt in a week”? I promise you it can be done! In fact it’s been done 1,489 times since the inception of Project QUILTING in 2010. Folks from 42 states, 5 provinces, and 10 countries other than the United States and Canada have even joined in the fun! Later this week you’ll get to hear from our new “Challenge Giver” Trisha Frankland – she’ll be sharing with you some great tips to help you prepare yourself for these inspirational challenges! As a bonus – once you finish the challenge for that particular week your name gets put in a hat and I draw winners randomly for the amazing prizes my sponsors have donated this year!
I made the “Amazing Technicolor Dream Heart” for a Project QUILTING Challenge. This quilt was a bit of a push to finish in a week … lets just say the dishes and laundry where making some pretty piles.

Interested but with my energy levels and working full time there is no way I can even do a small quilt in a week! I'm glad for those who can!
