During apple season I don’t have a lot of time to sew. Two years ago I followed along with a City Sampler Quilt along which turned into a pretty awesome quilt … if I do say so myself. Gnome Angel hosted another quilt along this year and after watching the action for a few days I could no longer resist – I just had to join in the fun. I went with a completely different color scheme this time around … indigo (many of my fabrics were hand-dyed by the lovely Jennifer Falkowski) and mustard yellow accents. Before I knew it … I had my 100 blocks put together! I think this may become an annual thing for me. Things get so insane during apple season that it’s hard to find time to sew but it’s so important that I do! Not only does it keep things at least a little interesting on my instagram account but it also helps make me a better person. Now that I have all of my 100 blocks made it’s time to put them all together. I thought of what I was going to do for the layout as I was helping customers one day. I said to my mother-in-law, “Diane – do you mind watching the register so I can grab some graph paper?” She didn’t even blink an eye at that request and my plan was created.
