Hello! Trina Peterson and Wendy Franczak here. Kim has invited us onto her blog to tell you about the newest and coolest retreat happening in Madison, Wisconsin this fall! Wendy and I founded the Modern Stitching Affair sewing retreat to bring stitchers together for a long weekend of fun projects and camaraderie. We’ve got 3 great projects lined up for you, and the best part is that they’re being taught by their respective designers! Betz White is coming from Maryland to demonstrate her Field Study Tote. Cristy Fincher, from Arizona, will be showing us her unique Piec-lique method to make sewing curves a breeze. We’ll be doing her gorgeous Circle Maze pattern. Ann Sandler, owner of Stitch Supply Co. in Altoona, Wisconsin, has designed an amazing embroidery sampler for our event! She’ll teach us all of the basic embroidery stitches. There will also be time for “free sewing”, so bring along your own projects as well. We have a ton of sponsors who have provided generous gifts for the event. Every attendee will go home with awesome swag, and there will also be additional door prizes throughout the weekend. There will even be a grand prize drawing: a Juki sewing machine from Mill House Quilts! Modern Stitching Affair will take place September 29 – October 2, 2016 at the Madison Marriott West hotel and conference center.
