Happy 11th day of the month! It’s time to vote for your favorite block for the ‘Everything Old is New Again’ Block Challenge. This months inspiration was the ‘Bow Tie.’
My block this name is – Martapura – once again named by my friend Trish the Quilt Chicken.
Here is the thought process behind the name of the block … Martapura is the name of a town (and mine) in Indonesia noted for its gemstones. Because I think this looks like sparkling diamonds or stones, and since you used an Asian print I looked for a famous place on the Asian continent.
I always love hearing about how Trish comes up with great names for quilts and quilt blocks.
This is the fifth month of the challenge and here are the five blocks I have made so far.
If you really like ‘Martapura’ I would appreciate your vote. Simply click HERE to do so. Voting is open until December 14th.
Thanks for your support!

All those blocks are so graphic and bold. This is going to be such a striking quilt.
Thanks! I'm having a ton of fun with them!
I love the colors you have chosen for you blocks and look forward to seeing how you will put them all together.
You have a great eye for blending fabrics! Lovely block.
Voting open to November 14 or December 14?
lol! Whoops! Yup – I fixed it … thanks for catching that!
