It’s Saturday night and I’m going to share with you a new feature. I’m going to be 100% up front with you. I’m posting these things below that I am an affiliate for. If you click through and make a purchase, I receive a cut. That being said – everything I’m going to share with you is either something I for sure know is amazing or something that’s been on my wish list for ages! So – in a way – these could benefit us both… With that … let see what I found for you this week! I love watching Craftsy classes while I’m sewing. I can look when I feel the need and just listen at times too. They’re also really easy to navigate and rewind to watch something I may have missed. Now – I’ve taking Free Motion Fillers, Vol 1 by Leah Day and I have Volume II on my wishlist. The first class was a life changer in my quilting world. She gives some really great tips, tricks and tools that will help you become a better free motion quilter on your own machine. I highly recommend Vol 1 and I hope to watch Volume II soon! Speaking of Leah Day …
I have her book 365 Free Motion Quilting Designs: Updated Second Edition with Spiral Lay-flat Bindingsitting right next to me every time I quilt one of my pieces. I love to flip through these 365 designs to see which ones inspires something or feels like it needs to be on my piece. This is definitely one of my ‘go to’ books. Next up, we’re moving off quilting an onto wardrobe … I am a stay at home mom that spends a lot of time in her sewing room. I don’t have to look cute to do this. I became complacent in a wardrobe consisting of sweats and a tank top. I realized that I needed to update my wardrobe just a bit at the beginning of the summer when I started to pack for my trip to Mexico. Did I mention I have three kids? Dressing rooms can be a nightmare! I decided to check out an online option that I’d seen advertised on facebook … ModCloth. Seeking Indie Styles? ModCloth Is the Place for Chic Indie Looks! Free US Shipping on $50+ & Free Returns. I really liked the styles and designs I saw on their site. So … I ordered. And a short time later a box full of clothing (and yes, the dreaded swimming suits) arrived. I had fun using my room as my dressing room and doing a ‘fashion show’ for my girls to help me decide what to keep and what to send back … about half and half (I mentioned I ordered swimming suits … which means I ordered multiple styles and sizes because I literally had no clue – but I did find one (well, three) I liked and kepts!). Making the returns was super easy! And … if you want credit on your ModCloth account you get an extra bit of money to spend. That was super clever on their site – I was happy to continue shopping! Anyway – what I really want to say is that so far I’ve had a wonderful experience at Modcloth. I’ve gotten some really cute clothes (and a cute swimsuit for my plus size body). Every time I wear one of my tops from ModCloth I get at least one compliment … which always feels good. So – if you hate dressing rooms and shopping … give ModCloth a try. And yes – they have skull themed clothing … like this sweater. And with that … that concludes my shopping finds for you this Saturday. Stop by next week if you’re interested in seeing what I’ve found from my affiliates next!
