I actually finished my quilt ‘Centered in the Orchard’ for the August Focus Through the Prism Pinwheel challenge a few weeks ago but I just haven’t had time to share it with you until now. So … voila! Here is my pinwheel quilt … ‘Centered in the Orchard’. It’s a half of a trunk and tree branches with apples. The pinwheels are meant to be the leaves of the tree. My Cherrywood focus fabric color is Green this month. I started by sketching out approximately where I wanted things like the leaves and branches and trunks to be. Then I sketched in a 4” x 4” gridded log cabin to help with piecing it all together properly. Once it was broken down into ‘logs’ it was easy to fit all together. Once again … I had an amazing time with the free motion quilting portion of this piece. It’s the perfect size to play around on my Bernina. Do you remember my quilt from last month – Grounded Origins? Well … if you place it below ‘Centered in the Orchard’ my overall plan for the quilts is a bit more apparent. I may even have a third quilt in mind for the top of this piece … we’ll just have to see! Linking up to: Finish It Up Friday, TGIFF, and Can I Get a Whoop, Whoop?

So cool! I'm glad you showed them together so we can all see the big picture. Also love how you tied the binding into the overall effect. Love it!
