I’ve never come this close to the deadline of an ALYoF goal before! And if it weren’t for the time zone difference I never would have made it. But I did it! My goal was to FINISH the farmer’s market booth banner for my friend ‘Fancy Pants Ferments’. I used Sam Hunter’s Book “Quilt Talk” to paper piece the letters of the name and then spoonflower fabric I made out of the business logo. These little paper pieced letters are addicting! They really don’t take long at all … I just had a hard time sitting down and focusing on the project with all the other things I had going on in March. Tonight, I finally sat down and just got to work. It wasn’t too long before I had this fun little quilt top put together. I decided to use a pineapple block for the corner as it reminds me a bit of cabbage which is the main product my friend ferments. And then – I had some fun free motion quilting the top down. (It is square (technically rectangular)… I just had to take the pictures on my floor since it’s the middle of the night when I’m finishing) I used a leaf and tendril random design in a variegated Aurifil thread in most of the banner but I did a fun cabbage-esque design in the pineapple. The farmer’s market banner is backed in a Wren fabric. I still can’t believe I’m actually making the link up deadline! Did you!?
