I’m in love with Mini Quilts. There I said it. It took me awhile to get there but now that I am I’m 100% in. It is such a great way to test out a technique, a crazy fabric combination, and more without committing to a huge project. And in the end – you have a little quilt that can be hung on any wall as a perfect piece of fabric art. I finally get it. Each month, Aurifil has a designer post a pattern for a mini quilt on their blog. This month the designer is Kimberly Jolly of the Fat Quarter Shop. I’ve decided to do these mini quilts with my original spoonflower fabrics. I have TONS of it that I look at and pet but never use. I think now is the time to really give them a try and see how they look cut up and pieced back together! This month I’m using my fabrics … Hydrangea Petals Scarlet Apples in Bloom And here is what my ‘Aurifil Mini Quilt’ top looks like! I love how the variety in fabric makes this such a dimensional and intriguing two fabric quilt. I hope to quilt it soon and have it in my ‘finished’ pile but I have a few deadlines I really have to focus on first. Stay tuned!

You fabric is gorgeous Kim, and so is the quilt! You really captured the essence of an apple orchard in just a few simple shapes!
