Layout 6 for #ScrappyCrownAlong

February 16, 2015 by persimondreams 3 Comments

Happy Monday everyone!  I am one of those weirdo’s who love Mondays!  I think it has to do with being a stay at home mom and the majority of my kiddo’s heading back to school.  I can get a few things done with some peace (if Pip allows it).  Today I’m going to share with you the sixth layout for the #scrappycrownalong.  I’m having fun with these and I hope you are too! Fullscreen capture 292015 100256 PM-001 To make this block – you need to make

  • 2 – 15” Crown of Thorn Blocks
  • 3 – 10” Crown of Thorn Blocks
  • 6 – 5” Crown of Thorn Blocks

This is the last block that will use 15” Crown of Thorn blocks so if you plan on following my plan I would be sure to count where you’re at so you don’t get too far ahead of yourself.  If you’ve already made more than 14 of them – no worries!  You can always make a mini! Fullscreen capture 292015 100256 PM Here are my six blocks laid out in EQ7.  IMG_7416 This is my actual Block 6.  I did have a couple of 5” crown of thorns made but I wanted to show you how dramatic those large half square triangles can be when you group them together in a block.  I’m also super excited about how well the dots in my Cotton + Steel fabric create a point in the middle two blocks!  I didn’t even really plan that! mosaic37857ed1c51077bc9b40bb1d17ae68b8f583dbb4 Here are my six blocks laid out in my quilt so far!  This is just so cool! Layout 7 will be posted next Monday.  I have to focus on my Project QUILTING quilt this week! Please use #scrappycrownalong to share your photo’s!
Also – join in the #scrappycrownalong flickr group and share your progress photo’s there!

Hi Kim – thanks for linking up to MCM! I love this quilt layout – I haven't seen your posts on this quilt along, I'm going to be doing some reading and catching up! 🙂

Fun! I only have two blocks done so far but that's cool with me. It's what happens when you're working on a dozen things at once. 🙂 http://www.quiltartbymegan.com

Hi there! This one is fun – it makes me think of a cousin of the Gypsy's Wife for some reason. . .
