Josie Tollaksen, The 2015 New School Competition

January 20, 2015 by persimondreams 4 Comments

Today I’m stepping away from a post about Project QUILTING and quilting.  Today I want to tell you about the future of the art world – our youth.  IMG_2991 Josie is such a wonderful young lady.  I have known her for over 8 years and she has been a part of my family for that long as well. She is the neighbor girl and has been watching my children since they were born.  She’s not your typical babysitter though – she brings joy and art into my children’s lives.  They don’t sit around all day – they make books, art projects, and even bake with Josie.  I know I found an amazing girl to care for my kids when I see their faces light up when they see Josie biking up to the house.  josie

I wish her the best of luck in her future and I know this girl is going to bring joy to the world. And here’s where she needs your help …

Please take 3 minutes to watch, like, comment on, and share my video! This is my submission to The New School Competition, if I receive enough love I can win a full scholarship ($160,000!) to Parsons The New School For Design. I don’t have long, the contest closes February first! I will be be forever grateful. Thank you! Filmed by my alien half-brother, Hans Tollaksen

In order to get things done, I have a strict rule to not watch video’s online.  I broke my rule and am so happy I did.  This girl is poised, well spoken, and has a good head on her shoulder’s.  While I secretly wish she would stay home and go to school so I can have her for my babysitter for just a few years – I would love to see her live her dream and excel.  Thank you for taking a few minutes to like, comment and share Josie’s video and help her accomplish her dream!

I wish you all the best, Josie, and really hope you win the Parsons' scholarship! I'm very impressed with the stand-up cut-out you made for the Parsons school at the end of the video! I hope it impresses the Parsons judges as well!
