At the beginning of this month – I made my December ‘A Lovely Year of Finishes’ Goal to finish my Gypsy Wife Quilt Top. I surpassed my goal! Not only did I finish the quilt top, but Barb Raisbeck of Quilts by Barb quilted it and I got it bound! The whole quilt is FINISHED!
It was actually a lovely day this morning so my daughter, Cedi and I hiked up to the deer fence to do a quick little mini photo shoot of the finished quilt.
You can really see the quilting in this shot. Barb chose to do long vertical lines that sort of wave there way down the quilt. It creates a really cool illusion and texture to the piece. When I started this quilt a few months ago I actually did an initial fabric pull to use in two different quilts – the Gypsy Wife of course, but also my Nested Churn Dash.
Here they both are side by side to show you just how different quilts can look even when they start in the same place.
This was a fun quilt to make.
these are beautiful
