I joined in on Canoe Ridge Creations Fresh Mini Quilt Club this round and I’m happy to say that I have one completely finished! (one more top to quilt yet and one more top to make and quilt…) It wasn’t really in my initial plans to have this finished this week…but things just happened and this was the perfect quilt to practice my free motion quilting on..and voila…’Boxed In’ is finished!I have definitely fallen in love with min quilts – it’s a great way to audition colors and practice quilting patterns before getting to the ‘big quilts’. If I were to do this again…I would have done my ‘lip’ of fabric on the binding in a purple to match the little bits of purple seen in the green fabric. I really love these mini quilts. It’s been a great way to try out color combinations and work on my free motion quilting skills! This one will be great either as a little wall hanging or even as a table topper!

Such a cute quilt. I haven't made a mini yet but have it on my quilty To Do list!

The only little quilts I've made are doll quilts for our 6 great granddaughters, and those are REALLY mini, but still good practice, as you say. Since free motion scares the heck out of me, maybe I'd better do as you did, and practice on them, since my little girls won't even notice that the quilting is wonky, only that they received a present from great gramma. We are so blessed!

I like the framed butterflies — very nice. I plan to make a few mini quilts to hang in our stair landing — not just a fun seasonal decoration, but as you said they'll be great for practicing some FMQ. So thanks for sharing yours!
