I am going to shock you all with what I have to say. It’s something I need to admit every once in awhile so I can try to get a grasp on things again.
I have a hard time focusing.
It’s not that I have a hard time finishing things. I’m actually pretty decent at that – I hate things just sitting around almost done. I just have a problem that I have to work on more than one thing at a time – which can tend to make my mind a bit crazy at times. BUT it also keeps me moving and creating so I think I just have to learn to embrace the lack of focus and just ride with it!I also realized that I’ve been making a lot of scrappy quilts lately and it’s time to start using fabrics from my yardage so I new scraps are created. Here is the pile of fabrics I pulled for the Nested Churn Dash quilt I decided to make.I’m going with a rainbow-esque theme. Here’s the first miniature churn dash that gets nested inside all the rest. It measures at just 4.5” squares.
And here is the second round of the nested nested churn dash.
Use #NestedChurnDash for all social media and check out the Flickr group to see what others are doing with their blocks.
For a few reasons I’ve decided to start with the same pull of fabric for another quilt.
- I want to see how different two quilts can look even when you start with the same SEVENTEEN yards of fabric.
- It will be a great challenge to make them look significantly different.
- I will only have one pile of fabric to maintain for two different quilts.
We’ll soon see if I can pull it off!
I know I’m behind most everyone on this one but my friend gave me the ‘Gypsy Wife’ Pattern for my birthday. It’s time I get to work on it and perfectly enough – there’s a Gypsy Wife Quilt Along going on already!
I have a LOT of catching up to do!
I started with the color wheel block.Last night I finished the Pershing block. These are super fun!
This is a picture of my what’s all on the design wall from Sunday night – obviously I still have a lot to work on as far as balance and focus. (the deer is going to be my panel for this month’s Project QUILTING Challenge)

That's an interesting idea… two different quilts, same batch of fabric. I hope you do it. I'll be stalking your blog to see how its done.

love it! I'm so excited to see what you do with the Gypsy Wife. I am contemplating doing one myself. Currently obsessed with the whole one-block wonder thing. and also working out what to do with my panels for the PQ challenge. so I'm thinking we might have the same problem…(did anyone say ADD?)
look…a bird!
ha ha. bye for now!

I have so many projects in various stages. But working full time I often get ideas I want to work on before others are finished. I figure unfinished projects serve three purposes 1. Gives me a variety of choices to work on when I have extra time 2. Are like the sketches in a sketch book and dont always need to be finished 3. Are future vintage blocks for someone to collect

Just like a butterfly stopping at all the different flowers. So many wonderful projects in process. Variety is what keeps us moving sometimes.
