Happy Sunday everyone! Are you planning on brainstorming ideas during the Super Bowl or sew through it? Don’t worry I’m pretty sure this weeks Project QUILTING challenge will be inspiring. I know I’m personally super excited about it! This is definitely my type of challenge!
Candies by Moyan Brenn
I just want to remind everyone that these challenges are meant to be inspirational and FUN! I know it can be stressful making a quilt in just a week but trust me – it can be done and it will be so nice to have COMPLETED a quilting project (or 3) ALREADY in 2014! Every week that you enter a piece for the challenge you are entered into a hat to win one of the amazing prizes from our sponsors! On Monday, February 10th, I will be posting the poll for the Public Vote winner. AND, if you finish the challenge in the time allotted your name will also be added into the final hat at the completion of the season for an opportunity to win the GRAND PRIZE! Inspiration, quilting, fun AND Prizes!? Can it get much better?
Before we get to the challenge – let’s see what our amazing sponsors have donated for this week!
PRIZES for Week 2
Each challenge that you complete a quilt for your name will be put into hat. One of my three beautiful girls will draw a name randomly for each prize.
For Quilts Sake will be giving away one of these fabulous stash bags to a lucky winner!

The Fat Quarter Shop will donate a book or magazine to one lucky winner!
Studio Cherie will be giving a free pattern!
Wooldand Ridge Retreat will be giving away a $50 gift certificate towards a retreat stay.
Amy’s Creative Side is giving a copy of her book Modern Quilts from the Blogging Universe. (I have this book and I love it!)

Now that we know what’s at stake this week…let’s see what our challenge is!

The Rules:
Candy by Ana
- Choose one or more candies for your inspiration.
- Your project does not need to be a traditional quilt, but must meet at least one of these requirements:
- Include patchwork.
- Include appliqué.
- Have 3 layers stitched together by hand or machine.
- Your project must have a name.
- Please remember that these projects need to be created and FINISHED during the week of the challenge.
- POST your entries with a description of your creative process, including where you are (ie, I create in Madison, WI) and the size of your project by Sunday, February 9th, 2014, at noon, CDT, to this flickr group, Project QUILTING with Persimon Dreams –OR email a picture/description of your completed project to {lapaceksorchard at gmail dot com} with PROJECT QUILTING in the subject line.
- I would really love at least a short description with your flickr photo and not just a link to your blog. I do ‘closer look’ posts and will feature each and every quilt made for the challenge on them.
- Even if you jut do a short description and then end with… “Read more about how I made this quilt {blog adress}” that would be better than just a blog address. I love to promote others so if you do have a blog include it and I will link up to you!
- There is now a ‘Challenge Quilts’ Facebook Group you can join in on to share your thoughts, questions, or whatever related to quilting challenges. You can always post progress pictures there if you want too!
- Even if you’ve been participating for years… Please email Kim at {lapaceksorchard at gmail dot com} with PROJECT QUILTING in the subject line so that Kim can keep you updated on the behind the scenes going-ons and get all her records straight.

I’ll admit it… this challenge is making me want to go and buy lots of candy and take pictures of it…and then I guess I might eat it…
Linky Party!
Add blog posts or flickr photo’s of your thought process/works in progress etc throughout the week to the linky party below! Then we can all easily follow along with you!
With that – good luck to everyone! Don’t forget – you can find Project QUILTING on Facebook too!
Have fun and don’t forget…
It’s Time to Think Outside the Square!

Kim, just curious as I saw the post about 40 some entries this round. Only 10 linked up here, more in flickr. Where is the definitive place everyone is supposed to link up?? I am not sure. I know somehow you get them all linked up for your review but I would like to see everyone that has entered in one place. Thanks
