It’s time to link up our Modern Mini Challenge pieces over at Ellison Lane’s blog. I decided to share a quilt I made for a Project QUILTING Challenge – my ‘Local Foods Grow Strong Communities’ Quilt. This quilt measures 24” x 24”. By combining raw edge applique, painted fabric, wavy free motion quilting, and a bit of angelina fiber I was able to create this fun quilt inspired by a page in a magazine.
I added a fun twist to the binding of this quilt by adding a ‘lip’ of fabric and then tacking it down in spots along the edge. It creates a ‘wavy’ look to this piece and I’m definitely using it again in future quilts. I hope you enjoy it! If you have a Modern Mini Quilt to share that you made in the last 6 months be sure to head over to Ellison Lane’s blog and link up!

Hey there, I think your website might be having browser compatibility issues.
When I look at your website in Safari, it looks fine but when opening in Internet Explorer, it has
some overlapping. I just wanted to give you a quick heads up!
Other then that, terrific blog!
