I’ve really been enjoying these last few months with having goals set. I’m definitely accomplishing things I probably wouldn’t have without the goals. I tend to be a bit scattered so I think this is helping me focus on things I really should finish. So…here it goes for this month.
Goal 1: Project QUILTING, Challenge 5
The next challenge goes up on Sunday, March 3rd.
Goal 2: Prepare Quilts for the Prairie Heritage Quilt Show and Competition.
I entered multiple quilts into the Prairie Heritage Quilt Show and Competition in Sun Prairie. The show is next month and the quilts have to be dropped off on April 5th. I still have to add hanging sleeves and labels to the quilts. Not hard but I just can’t forget to do it – and it’s one of those things that will probably have to happen when Pip isn’t around.
What quilts did I enter?

Goal 3: Baby Quilts
This is a project that I also have to finish in March. I have a baby shower at the end of the month and I need to make the baby quilt that my mom and I will be giving.
I’m going to making up my own design using the panels from this fabric – Critter Community from Suzy Ultman for Robert Kaufmann. I found it my stash (I honestly can’t remember where I got it from…maybe fabric.com?) and instantly knew I had to fussy cut the panels out to use for the baby quilt. I cut out enough panels for two quilts. If it’s cool, I’ll try to keep notes for the pattern as I work through it. It’s pretty neat looking in my mind right now…but we’ll have to see what happens.
Goal 4: Bind my 1930’s Repro Sampler Quilt
Remember my quilt from the January Party that I needed to finish piecing? Well – it arrived at my house beautifully quilted by the lovely Marcia Wachuta of Marcia’s Crafty Sewing & Quilting.
Here’s just a taste of what the final quilt looks like (thanks for the picture’s Marcia!). I managed to get the binding on while our dinner was cooking and now I just need to finish hand stitching the rest. I hope to get it done before my local quilt guild meeting on Monday, March 4th so I can show it off before I give it to my friend! I’ll share more about this quilt in a post next week!
Goal 5: Project QUILTING, Challenge 6
The sixth and final Project QUILTING Challenge will go up on Sunday, March 17th.
I actually have more things I would like to get done but I should probably stop at that for now. Anything else that I accomplish can just be a bonus then!
