Future Quilter Quilt – I need your help

January 28, 2013 by persimondreams 12 Comments

Earlier I sad I wouldn’t bother you with a third post today…I guess I lied.  I do have one more quick post for you.  It’s a request for your help in making my daughter Capri’s, 5th birthday extra special.

IMG_4560 Capri will be turning 5 at the end of February and she’s a sweet, creative, quite girl.  She loves to pick out the craziest clothes to wear (see above outfit) but she completely owns them.IMG_4565 Capri can work on projects for hours and in the end have made something crazy – like the hat she’s modeling above and below.IMG_4569Recently she’s been really into learning to sew with Grandma.  I took her big sister, Cedi to JoAnn’s for her 5th birthday to pick out fat quarters for her first quilt.  Capri has been excited about this for MONTHS!  More excited than getting her ears pierced.  She has requested that we have her birthday party at JoAnn’s so she can pick out her fabric.  IMG_4571

The glue on the hat wasn’t quite dry so we had to cut our photo shoot a little short…

Anyway – time to get to the point.

I wanted to recruit all your help in making her a really special ‘future quilter’ quilt for her birthday. Anyone that would like to help, I would so appreciate it if you could mail me a 6.5″ block (6″ finished) for me to put on her ‘future quilter’ quilt.   It can be pieced or just a piece of fabric with a note on it – I would love if it included your name, where you live, and if you have room (or maybe even in a separate note) any advice you’d have for a future quilter. Capri is my sensitive creative child and I know she would cherish this forever.

Send me an email at (lapaceksorchard at gmail dot com) if you want my address.  I would love to have the blocks by February 18th so I can get the quilt put together in time for her big day.

A little more about Capri – her favorite color is purple, then blue, then rainbow.  She has a brown bear she carries with her everywhere – his name is bear.  She literally can create for HOURS at a time and I’m always AMAZED with what she comes up with!

If you can’t fit it it – please don’t worry!  I just think this would be a really special gift for her and I LOVE giving really special gifts.

Such a cute and awesome idea! I would love to participate, but I'm afraid mine wouldn't arrive in time coming all the way from Germany. The last things I shipped to the US always needed 3 or more weeks even via priority Airmail and Express 🙁
