Last Tuesday I posted my ‘Postage Stamp Tree Block Tutorial’ for Quilting Gallery’s Glorious Autumn Block Party. (btw… the GIVEAWAY is STILL OPEN). Whenever I write up a tutorial I try to do it with enough time to have my mother-in-law, Diane, test it for me. She really does love all these fun things I find for her to do… When I sent her the tutorial I asked that she create her block using either winter, spring, or summer colors since I did my block in Autumnal Colors.
Once again – Diane came through for me! She found some minor corrections in my tutorial and we now collectively had two blocks. Can you tell which season she picked? Spring of course!
My next plan is to make a block in winter and summer colors so I can make a ‘four season’ wall hanging. Here’s where I need your opinions.
I’m trying to decide how I’d like to piece this four block wall hanging together – what do you think would be better?
– Vertically long?
– Horizontall Wide?
– Four Square?

I think 'four square' would be good; it allows the eye to move around the four blocks comparing and contrasting the four colour-ways.

I love these blocks! I would put them in a vertical layout myself, it seems like there is always a spot in the house for a long rectangle shape.
