Jared and my birthday’s are just under a month a part. This year – my sister-in-law sent us a gift certificate that was for us to go eat somewhere nice in Madison OR go on a Betty Lou Cruise. It was enough that it basically covered a cruise for the two older girls, Jared and me. We did decide to leave Pip at home with Grandma and Grandpa because who wants to be potentially stuck on a boat with a crabby baby for an hour and a half.
Jared took off early a Thursday in early August and we packed the two girls into the van and headed to Madison. The theme of our cruise was pizza and beer – not only that but IAN’s Pizza and Capital Brewery Beer. It was delicious and I finally exposed the girls to Mac N Cheese Pizza! Cedi liked it – Capri wasn’t as big of a fan. The captain of the ship let both girls steer the boat for awhile as we cruised around Lake Monona. The thought this was pretty cool. But I’m pretty sure the coolest part for them was the Kiddie Cocktails! The cruise allowed for some great picture opportunities – I love this one of the capital and the Monona Terrace. I was really proud at how well the girls behaved on the boat. They were the only kids on board and I’m guessing if the other passengers hadn’t seen them as we waited to board they would have never known their were kids on the boat. It was a great family adventure to help round off the summer. Thanks Aunt Karma for a great birthday gift!

Yay 🙂 I'm so glad that you were able to enjoy this as a family before the "busy" season starts. Thanks for posting pictures too!
