Sew Intertwined Quilt Along with Sew Bittersweet Designs and Sew HappyGeek – Fabric from Hawthorne Threads

July 22, 2012 by persimondreams 2 Comments

Happy Sunday everyone!  I just returned from an amazingly relaxing long weekend up North at my parent’s cottage – no internet service, no cell phone service – beautiful night skies, fun at the lake and peace and quiet.  It is happy to be back though because I thought of some great posts I can do that will feature a friend of mine’s quilt along AND my great sponsors.

Sew Intertwined Quilt - Stockholm Fabrics by Robin Singone

A Quilt Along put on by Sew Bittersweet Designs and SewHappyGeek

Today I’m going to pick out some fabric from Hawthorne Threads great online fabric store that would look great in the ‘Sew Intertwined Quilt Along’ being put on by my friend Melissa of Sew Bittersweet Designs and SewHappyGeek.  I haven’t pulled fabric from my stash for this quilt along yet so I figured I’d do a little ‘Virtual Window Shopping’ for some inspiration.  I’m going to do my first ‘shopping’ at Hawthorne Threads.  I’ve described the fabric requirements for the quilts and put in what Melissa used in the quilt above – below it I will show you the fabric I would choose to use from Hawthorne Threads.  I hope this gets your brain turning too and you decide to join in the quilt along fun!

Fabric Requirements –

Fabric 1: 2/3 yard (orange in image above)

Ghastly Angle in Mold Green

Fabric 2: 2/3 yards (green in image above)

Pressed Flowers in Camine

Fabric 3: 2/3 yards (pink in image above)

Straws in Golden

Fabric 4: 2/3 yards (leaf in image above)

Atomic In Olive from Michael Miller

Fabric 5: 2/3 yards (multi colored in image above)

Glendon in Ripe Avocado

Fabric 6: 1 yard (Daisy Janie Grey Print)

Tula Pink ‘Birds in the Bees’ Collection – Swallow Skies in Gypsy

Fabric 7 – Background: 2 yard cut (solid)

Essex Wide in Flax

I never decide on borders and bindings until my quilt is pieced so I’m not going to tell you what to use right now.  I would order a bit extra of the fabrics and then you can usually come up with a border from that.

Stop by soon to get some more ideas for how you could put fabrics together for this fantastic looking quilt along!
