Happy Sunday evening everyone! It’s not quite as hot in Poynette as it was for the last 10 days but I’ll admit – I’m still hot.
I just turned the AC back on though so hopefully I’ll cool down soon. I told you earlier today we’d be using my pinwheel tutorial again soon – and I wasn’t kidding! Soon is actually NOW! I’m going to show you two different sashing options using the pinwheel block and one other easy technique.
43. Tall Pinwheel Trees
a Tutorial for the Home Sweet Home Quilt Along
Fabrics:
For the Pinwheels:
2 – 2.5” x 2.5” square dark
2 – 2.5” x 2.5” squares light
For the Trunk:
1 – 1” x 9.5” dark
2- 1.75” x 9.5” light
Directions:
Create a 3.5” square pinwheel as shown in the Spinning Pinwheel Tutorial from earlier today.
Then take the two light fabrics and sew them to either side of the dark fabric to create the ‘trunk’ for the sashing tree. Sew the short end of the tree piece to the pinwheel. You now have a fantastic Tall Pinwheel Tree Sashing.
