Sisterhood of the Traveling Quilt is the Quiltsy Team from etsy group project. Each participant did an individual interpretations of a log cabin block in cool colors. The 1st block of each row was mailed to the next person in a loose geographic area to shorten postal time. Each person added their block to the growing row until the last person mailed to Annsquiltnstuff in Coweta, OK. Ann sewed the rows together and free motion quilted vines, hearts, flowers and butterflies throughout the cheerful compilation from 39 US states plus Canada and Israel. This was started in 2011 in honor of National Quilting Day and it seems very appropriate that it’s finished in 2012 in time for National Quilting Day.

Kim, thanks for blogging about the Traveling Quilt project. It's such a thrill to see my block (third row, last one on the right) in the completed quilt. I 'know' most of the quilters from our online team discussion threads, and it's a thrill to see something tangible that we worked on together.
