So…I’ve been pretty busy getting ready for my big STIMULUS Show this Wednesday and did not make as much progress on my BOMs & QAs as I would have liked. I’m predicting this week won’t be the best either since I have a ridiculous amount on my plate – but oh well! Even one block is progress – right!? But – I’ll show you how a few have grown and review what I’ve accomplished on the others so far…
Home Sweet Home Quilt Along
Two new block tutorials were posted this week – Block 11 – The Happy Tree from Prairie Moon Quilts
Block 12 – little house from Olive and Ollie Home Sweet Home Quilt Along Flickr Group: http://www.flickr.com/groups/1850682@N20/
Blogger’s BOM Quilt Along from Canton Village Quilt Works AND New York Beauty- A Paper Piecing Quilt Along
So – my other plan for this quilt is to add in the blocks that I make from another quilt along I decided to try out – the New York Beauty- A Paper Piecing Quilt Along. I’m going to use the same fabrics (my scrap bins) for my New York Beauty blocks so that they all blend together in the end. I think it’s just going to add this extra element of fun to my quilt AND I get to try something I probably wouldn’t have the guts to try if it wasn’t broken down the way it is. You can see what everyone else’s blocks for the BOM look like in the flickr group: http://www.flickr.com/groups/bloggersbom/pool/with/6789066490/ and for the New York Beauty Quilt Along in this flickr group: http://www.flickr.com/groups/1900096@N20/
The Craftsy Block of the Month
This one is really fun because there are two blocks posted a month with a video. Each month is a different technique…January was slash blocks, February was Half Square Triangles and March is now Strips. I love how many different things I’m learning – with ALL the quilt alongs! I managed to squeak in the next March blocks for this quilt along today. They were both really fun to make and the end effect looks way more complicated than it actually is. And here’s the Craftsy Block of the Month Flickr Group if you want to see what others’ looks like: http://www.flickr.com/groups/craftsyblockofthemonth/
FabricFascination
Next up: the BOM from FabricFascination. Sometime’s BOM’s are nice to just have the fabric all sent already precut for you – and that’s exactly what I’m doing with this one. No new blocks for you this week – but don’t these still look beautiful?!
