Since I had such a crazy busy week last week I made basically no progress on my BOM’s & QA’s until this week so that’s why I waited until today to show you my progress. I’m pretty excited about what I’ve done so far! So let’s take a peak:
Home Sweet Home Quilt Along
Two new block tutorials were posted this week – Block 13 – Three Trees from Around the Quilt Block Block 14 – Under the Apple Tree from Lilac Lane I can’t believe that the last two blocks are going up next week! Block 15: April 3rd – Samelia’s Mum
Block 16: April 5th – Sally’s Ponderings There will be at least three more *bonus* blocks posted so if you want your quilt to have 20 blocks you can. Date TBD – block created by Love Affair with my Brother
Date TBD – blocks created by Marcia’s Crafty Sewing & Quilting I also have TONS of more sashing/cornerstone tutorials to post so this quilt along won’t be done quite yet! I’m loving how it’s all coming together and think this is going to be one amazing quilt! Home Sweet Home Quilt Along Flickr Group: http://www.flickr.com/groups/1850682@N20/
Blogger’s BOM Quilt Along from Canton Village Quilt Works AND New York Beauty- A Paper Piecing Quilt Along, AND Mariner’s Compass Experiments
I have two of every block made except for the most recent one posted for the Blogger’s BOM (I do have one of those made so far though…). I’m moving a bit slower on the New York Beauty Quilt Along and only have two made but I’m still AMAZED with myself that I’m actually doing them! I’ve decided to add yet another group of blocks to this scrappy quilt – Mariner’s Compass Blocks! If you look in the lower left corner, 1 to the right, you’ll see my very first Mariner’s Compass that I drafted my own pattern for AND pieced! I was able to do this because of a class I took last Saturday from Chris Lynn Kirsch. She talked us through her journey with the Mariner’s Compass and showed us how to draft them. I then purchased her new self-published book, Compass Capers, and figured out the piecing at home. It’s a fabulous book and it show’s you that you can make mariner’s compass’s in all sizes and shapes! So cool! I have plans to make at least one more of these for the quilt – I think a circle one next time – but who knows where this new found technique will take me! The Craftsy Block of the Month
No new progress to report but I’ll leave these up for you to drool over. And here’s the Craftsy Block of the Month Flickr Group if you want to see what others’ looks like: http://www.flickr.com/groups/craftsyblockofthemonth/
FabricFascination
Next up: the BOM from FabricFascination. Sometime’s BOM’s are nice to just have the fabric all sent already precut for you – and that’s exactly what I’m doing with this one. Nothing new from me…yet… No new blocks for you this week – but don’t these still look beautiful?!
