I meant to post these updates on Monday’s. I spent all day feeling like there was a blog I needed to write but I couldn’t figure out what that was! Today…I figured it out! I’m sure you’re all anxious to see how my BOMs and QAs have progressed in the last week. This week I’m going to start with the
Home Sweet Home Quilt Along
In last weeks post I showed you how everyone was progressing with their quilts. I’m only going to do this every once in awhile though. This week, I’m going to share with you what my quilt is looking like. Two more blocks will be posted next week! I think know this is going to be one amazing quilt! It’s not too late to join in the fun! Next up…
Blogger’s BOM Quilt Along from Canton Village Quilt Works
I’m really happy with how far I got on this quilt along! In fact – I caught up! I finished the first six blocks that have been posted. A new one doesn’t go up until the end of the month so my next goal is to make each one again – they’re only 8” blocks after all. This one I am ONLY using fabric from my scraps…this is going to be cool! You can see what everyone else’s blocks look like in the flickr group: http://www.flickr.com/groups/bloggersbom/pool/with/6789066490/
FabricFascination
Next up: the BOM from FabricFascination. Sometime’s BOM’s are nice to just have the fabric all sent already precut for you – and that’s exactly what I’m doing with this one. I finished Block 3 this week. I’ll admit – I was a bit intimidated by all those half square triangles (hst) when I first saw them. But this block went together quick and easy and it looks fantastic to boot! Important Links to Participate (you don’t have to buy a kit to join in the fun!) Be sure to check out the blog posts from Kym – she show’s you different ways you can put the block together to make an entire quilt – too fun!

And because I don’t have enough going on I am doing one more quilt along (at least for now…)
The Craftsy Block of the Month
This one is really fun because there are two blocks posted a month with a video. Each month is a different technique…January was slash blocks, February was Half Square Triangles and March is now Templates. I love how many different things I’m learning – with ALL the quilt alongs! I decided that this quilt I’m going to do in red, turquoise, and greys. I think it’s going to fantastic when it’s all said and done! The other cool thing about all these quilt a-longs is that sometimes you do similar blocks – just in different ways (ie Block 3 in the Craftsy is super similar to Block 3 from Fabric Fascination). I have also found inspiration for designs from them too. Block 2 – the Wonky Pound Sign inspired me to design Block 8 for the Home Sweet Home Quilt Along – A Wonky Modern House. Right now, in my quilting life – these quilt a-longs have been super beneficial to me in so many ways and I can’t wait to get to work on even more blocks!

Once again I am amazed at how much you get done Kim. I love all these BOM projects, too much fun!
