It seems as I near the end of my pregnancies, instead of the typical ‘must get the house clean and ready for baby’ nesting symptoms I tend to make quilts. This is starting to kick in. I currently am working on four different pieced quilts (I never piece quilts anymore…I’ve realized my real passion is more in the applique world). One of those projects is the Mystery Quilt I started at the 2009 Quilts by Barb Quilt Retreat. I have decided that if I don’t sit down and finish it – it will never get done. I have also decided that I need to start making my quilts at least lap size to make them ore practical for buyers (so…if I stay true to my thoughts you’ll either be seeing lap sized quilts from me or quilted art wall hangings). After all that…here is a picture of my progress… I figure I’ll have to make at least twice this many blocks before it’s ready for the border…I plan on working on it at least a little bit every day and really hitting it on the days the kids aren’t with me. I am the same way, my last pregnancy I made 7 quilts in 4 months!! And now that my baby is here, I have been working on the same quilt for ever! I guess having a newborn in the house slows things down a bit!
