A few weeks ago I was at the pool with my girls and realized that towels just don’t work when I’m trying to haul them out of the pool and into the car. First…I have to carry at least one of them (Capri) and second, neither really want to leave the water so I usually have to drag both of them in my arms kicking and screaming (well that only happened once so far…). I needed a new solution.I went to etsy to look for baby swimming cover-ups. It seemed that most of what I saw was sleeveless. Well, my kiddo’s are quite fair skinned and ridiculously skinning. They need protection from the sun and they are usually chilly from being in the water so I wanted something with a hood and longer sleeves.I decided to put my very first request into Alchemy. If you want to learn how alchemy on etsy works click on this link: http://www.etsy.com/help_guide_alchemy_overview.php. I immediately got lots of response and offers from some really talented artists. In the end, I decided to go with a fellow Quiltsy Teammate…JenSport. Below are pictures of my girls modeling what JenSport came up with!Cedi likes to twirl in hers 🙂 The hoods are lined with the same gorgeous fabric that she did the binding with and then she took a few of the prints and appliquéd them to the front of the cover-up…so adorable! Cedi wore her to the beach and back but while we were there she was in or near the water 🙂Capri, needed a little break and a little warm up and it worked perfectly! JenSport was great to work with. I had to have a pink one for Cedi and a different color for Capri. She found some gorgeous coordinating fabrics to go with it and the quality of these cover-ups is flawless! I couldn’t be more happy!Make sure to check out her etsy store to see the other fabulous work she does: http://www.jensport.etsy.com/ and you can now order your very own custom made swim Cover-up!
