I just got back home from going to the quilt retreat in the Wisconsin Dells hosted by Barb Raisbeck from http://www.quiltsbybarb.com/. It actually lasts from Friday until Sunday, but I didn’t want to leave my husband alone all night with two kids under 2 so I just went up for the day. The project was a log cabin quilt, but I didn’t get my stuff read in time. Instead, I made a bunch of oragami bags and an awesome appliqued wall hanging out of hand-dyed fabric! I’m really excited to start to quilt it.
I had a really good time at the retreat. It’s so nice to be around so many other people that enjoy the same things as I do. It’s also great to see the different fabrics and combinations of colors people choose for their quilts. Lots of times is something I would never have done, but looks absolutely incredible.
Barb has another great quilt retreat planned for next fall. For more details check out her website: http://www.quiltsbybarb.com/new2009quiltretreat.htm.
