The 9th season of Project QUILTING is about to begin. Tomorrow, Sunday, January 7th at noon CST the first challenge will be posted right here on this blog. I have lined up six “Ultimate Weekly Sponsors” for this season – one for each challenge. The day before the challenges are posted I will tell you a little about them and then share with you the prize they are donating for the challenge that is valued at $50 or more! Everyone who enters per the guide lines of the challenge will have their name put in a hat. My girls will randomly draw the winners once the challenge closes. The first name they draw will be the winner of the fabulous Ultimate Weekly Prize from Cheryl Sleboda of Muppin.com! I have been lucky enough to meet Cheryl in person a few times. She’s a wonderful person full of inspiration and knowledge that she shares without hesitation! I owe a lot of my success to Cheryl for her encouragement and getting on my case to truly come up with my “elevator speech.” (If I had just 1 minute to tell someone about me and why they should hire me – what would I say?) Cheryl visited my local quilt guild – Lodi Valley Quilt Guild – and shared with us her “Working Weekly – Staying Inspired” – How small quilts helped me find my artistic voice Lecture. It was an inspiring lecture and in a way a Project QUILTING challenge in itself … just all year long! Learn more and see all of her creations by heading to her website:
I’ve also taken two classes from her … one in Chicago at the International Quilt Festival where I made an adorable smocked pincushion. The other was with my local guild and it was her “Experiments in Dimensional Sewing.” Both of these classes gave me new techniques that I could tuck into my tool belt to pull out and use for Project QUILTING Challenges. Always keep learning! Now that you know a bit more about Cheryl – what is the prize!?
The prize is the Heirloom Sewing Bundle!
Includes:
-Heirloom Sewing Techniques for Today’s Quilter DVD
-Heirloom Smocking Template
-Printed versions of all 8 Smocking patterns
-Print version of the Pleats to Meet You Tablerunner Valued at $67! Who said heirloom sewing has to be stuffy? Cheryl Sleboda is making heirloom sewing modern by adapting these classic techniques to be easy to understand and fun to do. From smocking to pintucks to pleats, Cheryl will show you how easy it is to add vintage style to your projects. Muppin.com is your go-to resource for fabric manipulations and heirloom sewing techniques to enhance your next quilt. Feel free to visit Cheryl online and thank her for her generosity and support!
